Hello everyone!
I just had a little idea to make it a bit easier for whoever is calling clan wars to tell people where to go and how to reposition.
It will take time to implement and may be frustrating at first, but in the long run, it will help out tremendously in my opinion.
So here's the plan...
Each member posts their clan-war ready tanks in a reply to the thread that will be made if this idea gets a green-light and gets tested. They will be added to a list that the commander can adjust as he sees fit.
Example 1:
TheRockinDragon
Mediums: FV4202 --- Batchat
Heavies: E-100
The commander selects which tank he wants and assigns me to a squad. These squads can be called anything really, however I would prefer if we used military jargon as I feel it adds to the teamwork vibe.
Example 2:
TheRockinDragon
Commander requested tank: FV4202
Squad: Kilo
The member then checks this list and sees the tank that the commander wishes for them to use. (Not required of course if they can play better in something else, but it helps the commander if they know what people are bringing).
Example 3:
I log in, check the squad page and see that I have been assigned to Kilo. All the other members of Kilo squad has become my brothers in arms and I will fight to the end with them and lead/follow them into battle. This has now effectively become my nickname for clan-wars and when I hear mention of "Kilo" I will listen close to what is being said because that directly relates to me.
No more "Who am I with? Where do I go?" and all that. When the commander says "Kilo squad, move to D-5 and surpress the advance, do not advance past the rocks." I know exactly who I am moving with, I know who the commander was calling to, and I now can confirm the order with the "Affirmative" hotkey.
It will take some time getting to know who else is in your squad, but that's the fun part... You get to learn your squad's playstyle and can better react to their movements and actions. For example "Thedudewholikestobesecondincornerpeeks" likes to be the second tank in the firing line at a corner, eventually you learn this and make room for him in the lineup. Little things like that.
This can be practiced and implemented in training rooms first so that we don't dive into a full clan-war with an experimental project.
The ideal amount of squads is 3-4 depending on the map. The following callsigns can be used or any others if you have a suggestion.
Alpha
Bravo
Charlie
Delta
Echo
Foxtrot
Golf
Hotel
India
Juliet
Kilo
Lima
Mike
November
Oscar
Papa
Quebec
Romeo
Sierra
Tango
Uniform
Victor
Whiskey
X-Ray
Yankee
Zulu
