Figured this should go here. So, if you guys hang around the main channel quite often, you will find that I'm almost always ranting on about this portrait mod that I am working on. I was only just recently informed that we have a forum, so I decided to pop in and, as per the suggestion from Lore, post a thread about it  So, I'm going to spill a few details to you folks. This mod will be based on the results of a few tallies in order to record what you folks might want for what nation via a democratic vote. Being the one who is creating the mod, and since the US is my main tank's nation, I was hoping to use Anthro Dragons for that particular nation. It's up for debate if you guys don't want me to do this, although in the end; I will probably make a separate version for you folks with 100% less Dragon. US down, that leaves the following nations: -USSR -Germany -France -China Your job is to post suggestions for each nation as to what you might like the anthro race for that one to be. I'll tally up the results and the outcome will be based on that (for the initial release anyway) As time goes on, I'll happily begin to make alternate versions that include the Anthro Species that were not chosen, but it's all a matter about time. So, get posting suggestions :3 |

Fatality, those nations aren't at question XP It's also not required that we use that setting's reasoning, though foxes for Germany seems pretty cool

well British would be rat and the Germans fox because of this
The British characters were depicted as rats to honour the Desert Rats, the nickname of the World War II British 7th Armoured Division. Similarly, the Germans were depicted as Foxes to honor Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, nicknamed the Desert Fox.
it just fits i guess
but cats would fit for the french

Huh, hold on. I might of gotten the wrong message out. I wanted what anthro you believe should go for that nation, and I wanted a definite answer.
Something like;
-USSR = Foxes
-Germany = Wolves
-France = Big Cats
-China = Dinosaurs
Note: It doesn't have to be relevant to the nation, I'll be sorting that part out.

USA = Dragons (sounds good because in WWII, Admiral Yamamoto stated that all Japan did at Pearl Harbor was to awaken the sleeping dragon that was the United States)
Germany = Foxes (in honour of Field Marshall Erwin Rommel)
Britain = Rats (in honour of the Desert Rats)
China = Pandas (what is more Chinese then that?)
France = Ducks ((JK!) I think that Cats sound alright.)
USSR = Bears (Russian bears? duh.)

I have an idea. Instead of having a nation represented by an animal, how about each crew person is represented by an animal and then have a different coloration of that animal for each nation. Like, an eagle of some kind for the commander. Dragon for gunners, etc.

Unfortunately, that's impossible JayDeth. All of the portrait files are organized in #1 to #30+ depending on nation, and since the portraits are chosen randomly in-game, then that means that we can't go through with that idea. You'd end up with having everything jumbled up.

Well, then have it jumbled. I really don't have a preference for any kind of anthro over another, personally.

Alright, I can't really get a definite answer as to what to do, so I'll just work off of my own initiative.
Worse yet, the British Portraits are here, that means even more work :\

i would say that the nations SHOULD have a jumble of characters, i mean the united states by its nature is a melting pot of differant races and nationalitys i would think that the character portraits should be the same, but not just for america's i would say for all the nations.
if there are 30 portraits then you could technically put 5 foxes per race, 5 dragons per race, 5 felines per race, 5 canines per race, 5 rabbits per race, and 5 _____.
that way no matter what country of tanks you could always be your favorite species, and of course with artistic freedom you can choose the individual pictures you already have in your tanks and make those the dragons :3 if anybody else wants the portraits they want it takes gold to switch the portrait, so technically one could switch to whichever ones they want. or going the cheap way keep recruiting the new crewmembers untill you get the species you want. would involve starting new of course.
but thats my opinion....buuuut to answer your question
ussr=wolves
germany=foxes
us=dragons
french=cats (preferably exotic ones)
britain= dogs
china= meh doesnt matter i probably wont ever have a chinese tank.
